Legal matters

On your admission, you as the patient, i.e. the payee, enter into a treatment contract with Regensburg University Hospital as a public agency. This contract, together with our general terms and conditions (AVB), forms the legal basis for the relationship between patient and hospital. There you will find details of the University Hospital’s contractual liabilities.

Most importantly, the University Hospital has no liability for damage caused by persons who are not employed by it, such as visitors or other external agents.

The University Hospital accepts legal liability only in cases of intentional harm or gross negligence on the part of its employees resulting in :

•     the loss or damage of property brought into the hospital which remains in the custody of the patient,
•     the loss of money or valuables not deposited for safekeeping,
•     the theft of or damage to cars parked on the hospital grounds or in car parks provided by the hospital .
