Paediatric Haematology, Oncology and Stem Cell Transplantation
Paediatric oncology Regensburg
The paediatric oncology department in Regensburg is one of the largest paediatric oncology treatment centres in Germany. We treat all oncological diseases in children and adolescents from birth and, in some cases, beyond the age of 18.
Malignant and benign tumours
The spectrum of diseases includes all malignant and benign tumour disorders. Treatment is provided on an inpatient, day care and outpatient basis.
Interdisciplinary treatment
We offer our patients comprehensive support from all members of our multi-professional team during their treatment. In addition to doctors and nurses, your children are also supported by child psychologists, teachers, music therapists, art therapists, physiotherapists and social workers. An essential element of treatment is several years of regular follow-up care at our outpatient clinic.
Therapy optimisation studies
All patients are treated in therapy optimisation studies in order to guarantee the highest quality of treatment. In addition, modern molecular therapies enable us to offer treatment even in cases where the disease has not responded adequately to standardised therapies.
Leukaemia, lymphoma and neuroblastoma
The hospital's own research projects in the field of leukaemia, lymphoma and neuroblastoma reinforce our medical success. We can always draw on the latest medical findings thanks to close cooperation within the German Paediatric Oncology and Haematology Society (GPOH) and the constant exchange of knowledge with other paediatric oncology centres.
Certified paediatric oncology centre
We are certified as a paediatric oncology centre by the German Cancer Society and can demonstrate the highest quality standards in our structures and work processes.
We develop our own treatment concepts (phase 1 and 2 studies) to further improve our patients' chances of recovery, for example for the treatment of refractory, recurrent neuroblastomas.
Immunomodulatory and antibody-based therapies
In addition to chemotherapy, we use the latest immunomodulatory and antibody-based therapies as part of multimodal approaches to treatment.
We are part of the Bavarian Paediatric Oncology Network (KIONET), which gives us access to additional state-of-the-art and innovative treatment options and enables us to engage in lively dialogue with all paediatric oncology centres in Bavaria.
