The Outpatient Clinic for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is located on the ground floor of the Regensburg University Hospital’s Dental Centre.

Opening hours:

  • Monday, Wednesday and Thursday: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Tuesday: 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Friday: 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.

An appointment for initial consultation can be scheduled by telephone: +49 (0)941 944-6329.

You can contact us with or without a referral.

Please bring the following to your appointment: your referral (if available), your health insurance card, important medical documents and any x-rays taken outside our clinic.

In case of acute problems, you can also visit us without an appointment. You will then receive your diagnosis and recommended treatment on the same day. However, this offer sometimes also involves longer waiting times, and we would like to thank you in advance for your understanding.

A wide variety of modern diagnostic and therapeutic options are available at our clinic for treating conditions in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery. Our range of treatments includes all dentoalveolar surgical procedures (surgeries in the area of the teeth and the periodontium), the treatment of mucous membrane disorders and tumours of the facial skin, and plastic-aesthetic surgeries.

  • Preparing for your appointment

    Please bring all medical findings obtained to date in their entirety to the first outpatient appointment. For example, we need not only the results of an x-ray exam, but also the corresponding x-ray images. Old doctor’s reports from previous examinations and hospital stays often provide a comprehensive picture of any existing general illnesses as well. Providing this information can significantly expedite the subsequent process.

    If you take medication, we will also need a list of all medications.

    If you were sent to us with a referral, please present it. We also ask that you bring your health insurance card.

  • Outpatient surgical procedures

    Outpatient surgeries in the Clinic and Polyclinic for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

    Please check in at Main Office 1 (Polyclinic for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery) and allow for some waiting time. Because our hospital covers a wide area due to its high level of specialisation, emergencies frequently arise that make precise appointment scheduling difficult. 

    When you receive outpatient treatment under general anaesthesia, you will be transported from Ward 47 to the operating area on a gurney after initial preparation. After surgery, you will stay in our patient ward for observation for four to six hours. After the ward physician has consulted with the surgeon and the anaesthesiologist, you will be released.

    You will receive additional information on preparation and what to do after an outpatient surgical procedure during preparation for the surgery or immediately after the surgery. 

    Please remember that you should not drive a car after outpatient surgical procedures.
