X-ray Diagnostics
Image-guided biopsies and functions
Tumours and metastases of the pelvic and abdominal organs, the thorax and the skeletal system are diagnosed using conventional X-rays of the thorax and skeleton, but particularly frequently using cross-sectional imaging techniques such as ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging or computed tomography.
Tumour biopsies
It is not always possible to reliably distinguish between a benign and a malignant disease. Such cases often require histological (fine tissue) examination. These tumour biopsies are performed at the Centre for Radiological Interventional Oncology (RIO).
Contact
You are welcome to book an appointment for an outpatient consultation at RIO in the Department for X-ray Diagnostics. Please contact the coordination office if you have any questions or require clarification.
