Surgery
Diseases of the liver and biliary tract
We offer patients the entire spectrum of hepatobiliary surgery for the treatment of benign and malignant diseases of the liver and biliary tract. This ranges from minimally invasive procedures (keyhole surgery) to liver resections and liver transplants. A liver resection involves removing part of the liver, while a transplant involves replacing the entire organ with a donor liver.
State-of-the-art diagnostics and treatment
Interdisciplinary collaboration is particularly important for malignant diseases in order to offer patients the best possible treatment options. As a certified liver cancer centre, we offer you maximum expert knowledge and state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment options in close cooperation with other specialist disciplines at Regensburg University Hospital. Our department performs more than 200 surgical procedures each year, particularly in the field of hepatobiliary surgery, which involves the liver (hepatic) and bile ducts (biliary). We develop the best possible treatment plan for each individual patient during interdisciplinary tumour conferences.
